Why should I get a professional wedding video?

Imagine the audio to this great emotion

Suppose a friend told you they had a book of professional photos of the day your grandparents were married in one hand, and a professionally produced video of that same day, in full color, with stereo sound in the other hand, but that you could only choose one to view and keep as a family heirloom. Which would you choose? That is the popular question that has more and more people understanding the importance of wedding videography. So, what makes a professional video so appealing?

The sad fact is that wedding videography is often un-justly pushed to the bottom of a bride and groom’s priority list.  More often than not, it is the amateurish, home video that brides have seen and may be the reason for leading them to believe they do not want a wedding video. Once a bride has seen a truly professional wedding video, their opinion of the art changes. The reality is, a professionally produced wedding video is a beautiful thing and often reflects the day as it was. Moreover, it is an opportunity for the bride to see the things that she missed or couldn't have possibly seen, such as parents being seated, or the ceremony processional.

The one thing that video can bring back from your wedding day is emotion. To see what people looked like on your wedding day is one thing, but to here them and see them move is another. Whether it is a tear running down the bride’s face, the groom’s smile that appears as the bride walks down the aisle, or the innocence of the flower girl dropping rose pedals on the aisle runner, video captures so much.

The biggest item that people underestimate about video is the audio. That is where a voice cracks during the vows, the true sound of the string quartet comes out, and where the toasts create contagious laughter. A video that captures and uses the audio correctly will have the viewer tearing up or feeling those goose bumps once again. Audio makes wedding videos priceless, and this is where the true emotion of a wedding returns and lives on for generations to come.

Wedding Photography is an important part of the wedding day and I would never discount the importance of hiring one of the great professional photographers in your area. I look at my wedding photographs every day, but having a photographer doesn't negate having a videographer. They are two totally different art forms, telling an entirely different side of the story. It is important to make sure that the two professionals work well together, but put the right two professionals together and you will have the most amazing memories for a lifetime.
